In our system of Martial arts we teach almost all ages from 4 years old to senior citizens. Recently in the last ten years or so, it’s been a lot more children than adults. I see that as a positive thing. That tells us we are impacting the future more than ever. We are raising kids with the values of Karate and Taekwon-Do, which is a great thing. We don’t just teach kicking and punching (the physical side of Martial Arts) but winning habits and many life skills.
We also teach students leadership qualities. All over Northwest Arkansas, towns such as Bentonville, Centerton, Bella Vista, Gravette and Decatur. We have students that have earned their Black Belts from all those different towns and more. We teach them discipline, focus, responsibility and so many other character traits. We are handing the baton to the next generation, improving the student and the art.
Most academic schools educate, but don’t much help a student with the character traits they need to get ahead in life. In fact many of the traditional values that worked well for centuries are out the window these days. A whole person is cognitive, physical and emotional. We try to bridge that gap. We still educate, but work on the whole person, not just on theory’s or data.
We know we have a serious role, and see proof of it with a lot of former students, the role we play. The student is much more ready for the world now then when they first walked through the door. We love to shape students of all ages with positive values and winning life habits. The leaders of tomorrow are shaped today and we are excited.
